Brand Focus: Alpha Industries
Founded in Tennessee in 1959, Alpha Industries began as a contractor manufacturing outerwear for the U.S Military. In the initial this primarily consisted of rudimentary flight jackets and shirts, but eventually the partnership led to the creation of iconic pieces of clothing such as the M65 and MA-1 jackets. The MA-1 jacket became almost ubiquitous due to its availability from military surplus suppliers following the conclusion of the Vietnam War and in turn led to the popularity of what are now known more simply as bomber jackets.
Following a change in CEO in 2011, Alpha Industries' focus turned towards bringing its vast outerwear experience to the global fashion industry and, along with it, the signature military style that the brand had long been associated with. Alongside recreations of iconic military jackets from previous decades, the brand sought to introduce new casualwear, accessories and childrenswear collections to appeal to a broader audience while maintaining the same durability and quality they were known for.
With a unique and historic position in the outerwear sector already cemented, Alpha Industries continue to innovate and evolve; whether it's with collaborations with leading names in contemporary fashion or reinventing their own iconic pieces. Practicality and durability remain primary focuses of each garment produced to ensure your outfits last for years to come and the classic aesthetics of the brand will keep them looking just as stylish.
