Religion return this summer, keeping their standard cool, moody prints and incorporating a summer feel within their new S/S '14 collection. Religion has always been the go to brand for something different from anything else that's out there on the market. Religion clothing is all about expression and the graphics, statements and adventurous cuts and washes are all about individuality and freedom. The 'no fear' policy has established women's Religion into a cult brand, often seen adorned on celebrities such as Rita Ora, Agyness Deyn and Rihanna.
The unusual print on the Ghetto Top is what makes this jumper so eyecatching. Using soft, warm colours in a 'sprayed' effect, the print is made to look authentic and vintage which is typical of Religion clothing. The jumper has a slightly cropped front and is a loose fit which offers a more relaxed look.
Neon is again set to be one of the biggest trends of the Summer, and the Cohorts Top is just the right tone. A sharp, acidic combination of a lemon and lime colour, the sleeveless top is also draped and hung loose at the back with the top half being slightly transparent to offer a contrasting material and break it up a little. This would look great with wet look leggings and heels for a striking night time look.
The Social Dress can be worn for a number of occasions and is one of the most versatile out of the collection. As well as being worn as a dress for a night out, the dress could also be paired with leggings and flats or as a cover up to wear over your swimwear on holiday. The great thing about Religion is that gothic style colour tones are used, yet the effects adorned upon the garments scream 'look at me'!
The Black Kaftan is a loose fitted top with an elasticated waistband that uses a mint green/grey print. This can be worn for everyday use with leggings and black flats or dressed up with heels and some costume jewellery.
The Blackout Tee distinguishes itself from others by the sequin embellishment, enabling it to be dressy enough to wear for a night out. With a dip dye finish, a standard Religion design with the cross print and Religion branding, the top has been a near sellout since it first arrived.
Last season's Pink Top has been transformed and reinvented this season with a brighter, louder colour. Keeping its beaded embellishment and swooping, draped back, the Pink Top is now the S/S '14 Trial Top.
Offering a distressed, authentic look within the print, the Steaming Dress is a fitted bodycon style with the added feature of a flattering low back. Perfect for a night out worn with heels and a large clutch bag or to turn the look into something totally different and more on the casual side, pair with some white hi tops such as the Vans Sk8 Hi True Trainer and a leather jacket like last season's Hooper Jacket.
Religion's signature look is a print. Whether it be a distressed wash or graphic adorned garments, Religion incorporate the meaning behind their brand name into their clothing, featuring crosses, skulls and toned down, rustic colours. The feather print stretches across the entire front, even down to the slanted cut of the fabric enabling it to be the standout feature.
This is the perfect example of the way in which Religion create their clothing styles. Like the Ghetto Top, the dress features a spray paint design over a backdrop of three ombre style colours. The fit and shape are also unusual with the assymetric draped sides which, all thropwn together, creates a Grecian goddess style dress, most suitably worn to a special occasion.
