What Were Eating Bacon Rarebit With Apple Chutney

Whip up this simple dish in no time at all, it's full of flavour and brilliant take on a classic favourite.
This recipe will serve up to 4 people and will take around 30-35 minutes to make, so let's get started......
Ingredients
For the chutney:
* 150g soft light brown sugar
* 100g sultanas
* 125ml malt vinegar
* 2 eating apples (cored and chopped)
* 3 tomatoes, roughly chopped
* 1 onion (finely chopped)
For the rarebit:
* 8 slices of dry-cured back bacon
* 350g mature cheddar cheese (grated)
* 50ml beer
* 1 tablespoon English Mustard
* 3-4 dashes Tabasco Sauce
* 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
* 2 tablespoons plain flour
* Sea salt and Ground black pepper
* 4 slices of thickly sliced white bread
Preparation Method
1. For the chutney, heat a large frying pan until it's hot. Add the brown sugar and sultanas, heat until the sugar starts to melt. Add the vinegar and cook until totally dissolved and starting to caramelise.2. Stir in the apples, tomatoes and onion, cook for 10 minutes or until the apples is tender and the mixture has thickened. Remove from the heat and decant into a clean jar.
3. For the rarebit, preheat the grill to high.
4. Place the bacon onto an oven tray and grill for 4-6 minutes, or so it's cooked to your liking.
5. Place the cheese and beer into a frying pan and heat until the cheese is melted, bubbling and smooth. Now stir in the mustard, worcestershire and tabasco sauce.Stir in the flour and cook until just thickened. season with salt and pepper.
6. Meanwhile, toast the bread and then place into an ovenproof dish. Top each slice with 2 pieces of bacon and the rarebit mixture.
7. Grill for 2-3 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and bubbling. 8.
