As we step forward into the new season, our daily wardrobe changes. New trends arrive and the type of clothing we wear is altered. Wearing fun, bright colours this spring will boost your mood after winter and update your spring/summer look. So what trends do we have to look forward to? Neon was a huge trend last year and this year its back with a bang! If this trend is too loud and vibrant, why not try a soft pastel tone or pretty floral print.
Prints are going to be everywhere from a pair of trousers to a jumper this season, so feast your eyes upon what brands such as
Maison Scotch and
French Connection have to offer...
Prints
Prints are a great way of updating your look and adding interest to your dull, lifeless wardrobe. The best thing about choosing to incorporate a print into your style is the wide variety and choice. A wild animal print, simple polkadot or a quirky Aztec print are just some of the many prints you may choose from. Dutch brand Maison Scotch are always on hand each season to provide unusual prints within their jumpers, dresses and even jeans as seen on the La Parisienne Jeans below. But don't shy away from prints believing the look is too 'out there', the Michael Kors Cynthia Mid Signature Satchel features a subtle print that is popular within designer bags and used by the likes of Louis Vuitton and DKNY.

Pastel Pinks
Pastels have always been a great way of injecting colour into your wardrobe without the need for heavy and bright tones that can sometimes cause a washed out look for those with a pale skin tone. Pastels make use of soft, lightweight colours, steering away from the neon, bold colour palette. The pastel trend is most favoured in the spring/summer months and a great change from the reliable LBD and those Christmas inspired sequin numbers. Match your makeup to suit this trend and leave the heavy foundations and lipsticks behind by using lighter pink and neutral tones to suit your appearance. Choose pastel toned accessories to accompany your look too; the Ted Baker Jemina Iphone Case and Vivienne Westwood Anglomania X Melissa Ultragirl Orb Coin Shoe are both candy pink colours that smell candy pink too!

Neon
Wear it loud and proud with an acidic neon colour. From vibrant pinks to electric yellows, the illuminous colours are eyecatching and can be used to make a statement. Take a look at the French Connection Natalia Panelled Colourblock Dress below, this is an example of a small amount of neon being used to form a colourblock, enabling it to stand out and become a head turning statement dress. Those with a darker skin tone and hair colour should invest in the neon yellow and lime colours for shades that will prove complimentary.
Even casual footwear favourite Converse have jumped on the neon bandwagon this season, bringing with them an updated version of their classic pink; Carnival pink. This is a bright coral shade which is new to the S/S collection.

Floral
Once again, floral prints have made a comeback. It seems the ever popular print comes out in full bloom each spring/summer season and this year is no exception. Creating a fab, feminine feel, florals can be featured in big, bold prints or small, pretty clusters. Ted Baker are known for their use of girly colours and prints and this season, the brand have released an even wider collection of floral printed clothing due to the success of previous seasons. There are three main different types of floral print that are featured heavily within this collection. The Electric Daydream print offers a blurred vision of floral as though one is 'daydreaming'. The Sugar Sweet collection are a pretty, pastel design that resembles a watercolour feature. This has been used on many accessories including Ipad and phone cases, bags and many of the clothing. These are a big contrast to the new updated Oil Painting print. Last year saw a darker background with a bold floral print featured on top, whereas this year's style offers a pastel pink backdrop but using the same traditional, English style flower print.
