Losing My Religion

6th February 2014 | Posted in Womens & Brands by H. Simpson
Developed in the early 90's, Religion has expanded from simply being a quirky t-shirt range into a large popular clothing collection. Featuring various prints, washes and statement pieces, Religion use a lot of dark and haunting imagery and moods. Think greys, blacks and draped authentic looking tops, dresses and jackets. Here are a few bits from their latest collection that are quite eye-catching, different and bang on trend...

This shirt is just about see through so can be worn on a night out as it is or with a top underneath for the daytime. Leopard print is a classic that never seems to go out of fashion; sometimes it can be the trend of the moment, but it never actually goes OUT of fashion. I'd wear lots of gold accessories if your wanting to jazz this look up for a night out. Religion Pitiful Shirt

This cardigan is unique and very on trend with the metal spike detailing. Studs and spikes have been very big this year and can turn an ordinary item very edgy. Just make sure that if your adding a specific accessory colour, to add silver if anything as the spikes are silver and in my opinion, there's nothing worse than gold and silver together! If there's one thing that I've seen a lot of this year its leather jackets. It seems that Religion are totally clued up on the biggest trends right now (leopard print, spikes, leather jackets, moody colours...) Though many of them are a leather look material, this Religion ones genuine and you can definitely tell a real one from the faux leather ones by the feel. This is so soft, it feels like its actually going to mould into your body shape. Religion Hooper Leather Jacket

If your looking for a dress, but want something a little different, check out this Majolica Torture Dress. Unusual print and unusual style, this moody coloured dress would look great with a pair of heels. Don't be afraid of these moody colours that are about at the minute, its a great toning down from the neon trend we had all the way through summer. If your not keen, add a pop of colour with an accessory like your bag. Religion Majolica Torture Dress

Maxi dresses have been a popular style dress in the past decade. This Karova Maxi Dress is very versatile as it can be worn for all seasons. The body of the dress has been somewhat 'slashed' into strips to form a Bohemian style maxi and can be dressed up with a clutch bag or down with a cross body bag for those holiday nights. The best feature about this deep pink top (almost a rose colour) is the back. Detailed backs are a nice alternative to a detailed front however I'd recommend hair being worn up so that the detailing on the back is shown off to its full effect. If you look at a few of the Religion tops, you'll notice a lot have a draped feature to the style; less of the tight fitting bodycon numbers and more the slouchy, loose fitting styles. This should be worn with black skinny jeans or a black skirt with a skinny black belt fitted around the waist. Religion Pink Top
