This A/W, UGG Australia are celebrating their 35 year anniversary. The Classic UGG boots were first introduced in 1978 by Australian surfer Brian Smith. By 2000, celebrities and the fashion world had decided to favour the UGG brand and ever since, the boots have become a staple piece in a girl's wardrobe and remained in fashion so much so that the brand has now expanded into fashionable heeled boots, slippers, bags and accessories. To celebrate this, we are giving away 4 pairs of UGGs by simply entering your details onto our facebook page.
There are currently three types of Classics which are the mini, short and tall. The short are the most popular and are the basic standard size, however if you opt to be different, the mini and tall are great alternatives.
UGGs plus skinny jeans= the cosiest and essential style this winter. Add a chunky knit jumper to complete this look. The classics offer no frills or seasonal trends (such as the Eliott Chestnut UGGs), they are called classics for a reason because they will always be the ones that remain 'in' throughout each season. Also with a classic pair, you can wear them in two different ways; as normal or with the top folded over so that the boot has a fur trim for a more cosy look. For those that have never had a pair of UGGs - (omg!) you are missing out! Ever wondered why the footwear brand is so popular for winter? Its not because they're a casual shoe that can be thrown on with an outfit when you can't be bothered, the comfort inside the boot with the fur lining, creates an absolute luxury feel that is warm and cosy as well as comfortable (I never want to take mine off in the house - maybe I should revert to the UGG Slippers!) I think I speak for girls everywhere when I say that we anticipate the time when its acceptable to dust off our UGGs!
What helped the brand escalate the popularity were the heightened sightings of celebrities wearing UGGs (they can't walk around in heels all the time!) Like any fashion item, once celebrities are noted as wearing something a lot and often, the population seems to follow suit (remember those Shamballa bracelets?) Some of the celebrities that have been seen in UGG Classics are;
Kate Moss
Jennifer Aniston
Sienna Miller
Selena Gomez
Mollie King
Kate Middleton
Megan Fox
Miley Cyrus
Even Michael Kors has sung UGG's praises in the past (look out for the Michael Kors bag collection available online December time).
The mini version are so cute, they're almost like a glorified slipper. These are great for choosing something different when it comes to UGGs as not every girl on the streets has them. UGG's version of an ankle boot, wearing these will show off more of your legs in your jeans so pick a decent and flattering fit.
Don't be afraid of the grey thinking that they'll get marked easier, they're actually fine and adding the UGG Care Kit before venturing out will keep the boots in near enough pristine condition. A very Christmassy colour, I'd pair this with lots of silver such as this Superdry Grey Tiffany Sweater.
This seems to be one of the most popular colours. The chestnut are a winner because of the favourable tan colour and go great with browns and golds. (I have the chestnut colour in both of my pairs of UGGs as I tend to wear lots of similar colours to this during the winter such as creams and browns). Team this with this cute UGG Quinn Hobo bag or for a bigger alternative the UGG Gracie Shearling Tote bag.
The navy colour have become a popular choice this season, perhaps because of the luxury royal blue shade and because its something different. Not your usual standard colour, the navy actually go with a wide range of colours and would work great as a colour pop with an outfit of one colour. If your feeling even more adventurous, check out the Exotic Classic Short UGGs in Cheetah.
The best thing about a black pair is that they go with anything and probably the most versatile colour in UGG that you can choose from with regards to the colour. The tall UGGs aren't ridiculously tall, they come below the knee, keeping even more of your leg warm!
