Whether you love them or hate them, onesies have been a staple piece inside the wardrobe for some time now. I've got to admit, when they first came out I thought 'I'm never wearing one of those', but they've since become a fashion trend, people even going as far as wearing them in the street! I know that this Winter, I'm definitely going to be investing in a brand new one. So can you imagine my delight when we got the original onesie brand 'Onepiece' in!
The original
Thick and cosy with fleece lining
A fashion statement
Celebrity following
Christmas inspired designs
The Onepiece is actually Norwegian and started up by three friends in their twenties. They wanted to come up with a garment that you could wear on a lazy Sunday (preferably those hangover days!). Now obviously there's things you can wear like sweats, hoodies, tracksuits, etc, but when your feeling rather fragile or just finished that massive Sunday lunch, you want something that doesn't put pressure on your waistband. In fact you don't particularly want any pressure on any part of your body when your feeling like this and, taking this into consideration, the OnePiece was born; a giant, loose fitting jumpsuit with a missing waistband!
The OnePiece has since done amazingly well and led other brands and shops to jump on the bandwagon and copy, creating their own versions, even animal and charcter designs! But that hasn't tainted the OnePiece, for this is the brand that has now gained a celebrity following! Not bad for three twentysomethings having a lightbulb moment!
Some of the celebrities that have been seen in the OnePiece:Justin Bieber
Rizzle Kicks
JLS
Tom Daley
One Direction
Pixie Lott
Little Mix
Pixie Geldoff
Ellie Goulding
This is a really feminine onesie from the OnePiece collection. I'm not a huge fan of pink clothing just because I'm a girl but this girly version is quite cute. If you want something a bit cooler though, it also comes in navy which is the one I've seen most celebs wearing and the one I'd get! This is a version you wouldn't look as stupid walking out into the street wearing because its been done many times!
For Christmas though, I do love this one with the reindeers! Theres a lot more going on on it as well, but I'd probably just keep this for indoors only!
This one though is right on trend right now. Incorporating the Aztec theme that has been seen on garments galore this Summer, the tribal/aztec theme is still one that's on going!
Whether you want to get in on the onesie craze or not, its clear its here to stay. Probably forever now, they'll end up getting more and more developed and more and more brands will jump on the bandwagon once again. The idea is to not take them too seriously; You don't have to step out of the house in one if you don't want to
You can sleep in them
No midriffs getting cold!
Quick to get on and off
Total comfort
Unisex!!
Less washing- bonus!

Now you might think they're out of your price range for a onesie, but these are:The Onepiece is actually Norwegian and started up by three friends in their twenties. - So, now they have designed and made their garment, it was time to start selling. This started off with selling to friends, friends of friends and through the means of social media. Eventually, bloggers caught on to this and the news soon spread with the OnePiece becoming a bit like Marmite; you either love it or hate it! They might be a thing of recent times, but really a onesie is the casual version of a jumpsuit if you think about it and how long have people been wearing those...
