My Wish List Of The New A W Range
3rd September 2013 | Posted in Womens & Women's New In by H. Simpson
We've had lots of new arrivals lately, getting ready for the new A/W season so its all been busy busy busy! We've got new brands, new styles and most importantly new colours. The neon craze has been left to settle in the dust and introduced are warm, dark colours such as plums and crimsons. Long gone are Ted Baker's fluorescent flip flops and bikinis and replaced with chunky knitted jumpers and ponchos and Winter inspired dresses. I have chosen a range of items I have on my wish list, these are my favourites from the current A/W range that we have so far...
Teaming a shirt with a pair of jeans can instantly smarten up an outfit and this one is corded and designed with tiny Vivienne Westwood signature orbs. Not in your face, or too bold, the orbs are discreet and small. If a shirt is slightly longer and a little baggy, I'd wear with leggings or if short and fitted like this one, I'd pair with jeans.
This dress has been almost a sell out since it first came in. The ultimate dress for the perfect special occasion, I don't have any coming up which is why I haven't bought it yet! The best things about this dress are the fit; its a very fitting dress, but don't let this put you off because the print and the twisted design detail of the dress take all the attention away from any bloated bellies! Another thing about this dress is the print. Ted Baker have used this particular floral print in a few of their items; bags, IPad cases, jumpers and cardigans but I think it being incorporated into this dress is my favourite.
I'm not really a fan of blazers but this one is different as its more like a cardigan. I'd wear it with a pair of jeans and a plain top underneath. Its got a slight sparkle to the thread making it quite 'Christmassy' too. Because the lining is a great contrast (striped), I'd turn up the cuffs to show this for a nice clash. If I decide I didn't want the tassle detail, it just comes off quite simply.
This looks even better in real life. Its sort of a baggy jumper/poncho type top and is loose fitting which means its great for hiding tummies! It would look great layered over a long sleeved top with jeans in the Winter. Its the gridded square pattern that I like the most and the statement zip at the back of the top is an added feature that makes it stand out.
I always look at this. I like the fit as its a very fitted jumper and looks very flattering on. Peplums may be slightly 'out' now but I really like it on this jumper and it compliments the tightness of the jumper. The colour is very 'Christmas' as well, my only concern is getting fake tan on it! You could actually even wear this with a black skirt and a chainmail strap bag for a great night out outfit.
Not really sure why I like this coat and I never particularly wear red, I just think it'd be a nice Winter coat. Red is a funny colour, not many incorporate it into their outfits on a daily basis, but thinking about it, it would actually suit both blonde and dark hair really well. The inside of the jacket is filled with 'down' feathers which will be very warm come Winter and ensure that the coat won't go flat and flimsy as time goes on.
I really like Religion. It went a bit down hill a few years ago but its back on top form now and Topshop even sell it as a concession in their larger shops. Some of the items can be quite expensive but the range we have in at the minute are reasonably priced. This is one of my favourites in their collection. The style is meant to look faded and tatty and its very draped, much like most of their clothing range is.
This is a new brand we have recently got in for the Winter. Specialising in outdoor wear in particular coats and jackets, the Rino & Pelle range is worth keeping an eye on. This jumper is a Poncho style, Ponchos are great for throwing over the top of outfits as an alternative to a hoody or jumper and I expect them to be big once again this Winter. With this one, I particularly like the fur trim around the edge and the added roll neck effect. To add that extra detail, I'd throw on a chunky necklace over the top.
The jumper actually goes really well with the jeans below. I have chosen this jumper as I love chunky knitted jumpers for the Winter and this is a great example. Maison Scotch are one of our best sellers and its easy to see why, small little details are added to their items to make each unique.
Skinny jeans are the only jeans I ever wear and this Diesel pair are specifically designed to be a very skinny fit. Made from a stretchy cotton, this ensures that they are comfortable and shape to fit. Skinny jeans can be worn with practically anything. Loose tops, fitted tops, jumpers, heels, boots, flats and I roll mine up a bit and wear with a pair of Converse too. These jeans would look great with any of the tops above in this blog.
