Two national treasures, both spawned from the same 60's melting pot of mod culture, rock n roll and sideburns, join forces to bring you one of the most eagerly anticipated collaborations in years.
Fred Perry by Bradley Wiggins has landed at Masdings.com, bringing with it a huge wave of British culture nostalgia, with a road cycling edge, thanks to the influence of one of the country's most successful cyclists.
The collection brings some intricate details, led by Wiggins' technical cycling nouse, to some of Fred Perry's most iconic designs.
Zip neck finishings, along with back pockets similar to those found on cycling jerseys, as well as multi coloured tipping makes the Fred Perry by Bradley Wiggins collection stand on its own two feet away from anything else we've
ever seen.
One of the most famous, influential and successful cyclists in the sports history, Sir Bradley Wiggins is one of only a handful of cyclists to compete both on the road and on the track. Competing in everything from the Olympics through to the Tour De France; Wiggins has become an icon for the sport.
Wiggins first hit the big time in 2004, winning gold in the Individual Pursuit at the Olympics- just a year after taking first place in the same discipline at the Track World Championships. He matched his accomplishments four years later, before making the transition to road racing.
After a host of huge efforts and near misses at events all over the world, Wiggins finally won the Tour De France in 2012, as well as an Olympic gold at London.
"Wiggo's" huge success sent him into the limelight of the British public eye. Wiggins was revealed for the rock n roll loving mod that he is, and ended up a huge personality and a house hold name. From being spotted riding scooters, to playing guitar on stage with Paul Weller at a charity concert, Wiggins and his retro side burns have become a national treasure.
This Fred Perry by Bradley Wiggins is a fitting homage to the style, attitude and passions of the giant on the bike.
Wiggins famously said "I remember my first Fred Perry shirt. I got it in 1989. It was the standard shirt in blue, and I bought it myself."
This collaboration fuses Wiggins' two loves. The timeless style of one of his favourite cult brands; Fred Perry, and his affinity for cycling.
