Sports Luxe A Collection Of Looks
17th July 2013 | Posted in Womens & Summer Fashion and Accessories by H. Simpson
Have you ever tried combining sporty clothes into fashion? Something sporty and a little masculine and converting it into something feminine. Try carrying off a sports luxe outfit. This can be created from scratch yourself. You can create the look as individual as you want. Think block colours, monochrome with an acid colour thrown in for a piercing contrast. Or maybe think a crop top with a sports number on the front, thrown together with skinny jeans and platformed trainers. I'm not talking scruffy, baggy jeans and garments you lounge around the house in, I'm talking sharp, edgy and things that have been put together purposefully, not a 'thrown together' effect.
Lacoste Live! have a great range of women's polo tops that have had a sprinkle of feminine touch to them. The tie dye one is my favourite, its different and tie dye print is a big thing at the moment. Wear a polo top with skinny jeans or a pair of shorts if its really hot.

Here are some different looks and interpretations of sports luxe outfits which may help you individualise your own:
Tip: For this look to work, some masculinity elements must be added. Its sort of like the woman taking on a masculine role. So you could wear heels but then add a men's watch. Actually getting a men's watch would work most effectively!

The Smart Look
This look is a smart going out look. Think simple yet classic. The bag I have used for this look is actually an I Pad case but who would know! Inside has all the compartments a bag needs and love the fact that its big and bold with block colour decor. The minimum top adds a nice, fresh pastel colour into the look and the Ted Baker shoes are a great alternative to having to wear heels to dress up an outfit. This tones the look down yet still looks smart. I have added shiny leggings as opposed to normal leggings to heighten the style of the outfit. helloThe Lacoste Look
What better way to add a sporty element into the outfit than actually having a sporty brand thrown in. Its usually men who wear polo shirts so I like it when a brand bring out a range for women that have feminine touches added such as the crocodile being pink. Here I've gone a step further and matched the crocodile to the Lacoste shoes for the ultimate sporty girl vibe. The skinny jeans enable the outfit to not only be a sports outfit, but rather sport being incorporated into fashion.Halle Skinny Jean by True Religion

The Summer Look
This look is light and simple. Converse are a great way to casually tone down an outfit. I have chosen the 'Light Ox' version as these are less bulky and wouldn't make the outfit look heavy. Also these are a more feminine version and not available to men like the others are. Converse are a great way to soften an outfit. Instead of those Summer sandals or flip flops, add Converse into the equation, no matter how girly the outfit to add some casual coolness. At the weekend I wore a long sleeved tight dress with my trusty converse and went out like this at night. When I was out I saw many other girls wearing this, some hi tops and some the 'light' version. Choosing a darker colour or a white pair would be most beneficial in terms of how many outfits these would go with. I have a dark blue pair and go with most things. If you wear black a lot though, the coloured pairs would be good as a colour pop. The rest of the outfit speaks for itself, a sporty top thrown with a pair of denim shorts. Note the studded detail on the pocket which is also in trend!TF1142 T-Shirt by Lacoste Live
The Everyday Look
This French Connection top is a great example to use. Feminine and floaty with big blocks of colour. Two other small items I've added to make the outfit more 'Sport Luxe' are the watch and the bag. The watch I've made sure is white with matching blue digits. White is a great colour to use, especially with an acidic yellow to create a more edgy and sharp look. These items are also dressing the outfit up, however then the tomboy look comes into effect with another pair of the Converse Light Ox's. I've matched the colour of the Converse to the top to make it 'matchy matchy' as well.June V Neck Top by French Connection
