Every woman needs a pair of sunglasses to complete their look each Summer. Every year, new styles are brought out and these are fast becoming classics that people are wearing year in, year out. Whether your favoured glasses are a pair of Wayfarers or Aviators, here you are going to be introduced to a world of other styles and designs.
One of the great things about sunglasses, is the fact that people wear them for many different reasons. The main reason being the protection of eyes, therefore as well as choosing from the many different styles and colours sunglasses have to offer, you can also choose types of lense such as a coloured, polarized or darkened. Sunglasses also offer the purpose of hiding your eyes, therefore becoming detached from society in a way which is why maybe many celebrities such as Victoria Beckham choose to continually do this. You can also wear a pair when your having an off day, making you feel more confident and secure about yourself. This can also become handy when your at a festival to hide those tired, panda eyes or just as a quick way of not bothering to put any eye makeup on in that sweaty tent your in. Once again the sunglasses to be seen in are a pair of Wayfarer style or Aviators, however have a look at the alternatives to these such as a coloured frame or 50's pointed look. You don't have to pick a pair that will necessarily go with your outfit as this season its all about the clash. Sunglasses are unisex, so don't be afraid to check out the men's collection as there are many different styles on there!
Jeepers Peepers
Wayfarers have since become a popular trend since early last year, with many celebrities seen wearing the classic black rimmed pair. Wayfarers are a rectangular shape with a softer, rounded edge. Katy Perry can be seen wearing Wayfarers in her video Teenage Dream and trendsetter Pippa Middleton has been seen wearing Ray Ban's Original Wayfarer teamed with her 'Pippa'
Modalu London bag. Due to the popularity of Wayfarers, they can now be bought in a variety of colours and patterns including tortoise shell. Ray Ban are the original Wayfarer
manufacturers since 1956, however many other sunglasses brands have since jumped on the bandwagon and created a similar style. Check out the Lacoste pair which come in an array of colours and notice how Ray Ban have added a 'Wayfarer Clubmaster' to their collection which has been inspired by the iconic shape, yet the rims have been taken away from the sides and bottom leaving just the lense.

Top Gun your Heart out
Aviators originated from Ray Ban designing them specifically to help protect pilot's eyes back in 1936 and were released to the general public a year later. First made popular by the Top Gun film, sales of the aviator rose 40% for the 7 months following the films release. This shows that people are really influenced by the media as to what pair of sunglasses they choose to wear. The signature Aviator style hasn't just been copied by Ran Ban, other brands have added a twist to the classic shape where they can. Have a look at this Carrera pair with its distinct black frame, its a great version to the alternative. Or look at the Vivienne Westwood pair with a tiny metal orb on the front lense ensuring everyone knows they're a pair of Viviennes! These are a pair I'd wear on a
beach holiday to Ibiza with my friends, they have a more 'beach' and 'cocktail' feel than the rest.

Eye of the Tiger
When you think of a pointed rim, you may instantly think 'Dame Edna' but do not be put off, for the sharp edged sunglasses are back in fashion. Pointed frames are a more quirky style that add a feel of old school glamour similar to those worn in Grease by the Pink Ladies. If this is the vintage feel you want, wear with a
scarf around the neck for a proper 50's feel. These style glasses have been thrust into the spotlight once again by the likes of Alexander Wang and donned by the kooky celebs that tend to dress abit 'out there'. Do not be afraid to be different, this makes you ahead of the fashion whirl. Wearing plain attire then jazzing the outfit up with a pair of these can instantly change the whole style of the outfit. Vivienne Westwood has always been a designer who dares to be different, so its not suprising that she has decided to design a pair of these. Whether the frame is square or circular, these sunglasses somewhat resemble a pair of cat's eyes. Model of the moment Cara Delvingne has been spotted wearing them so they're sure to be an even huger hit.

Colour Pop
This season, the biggest trend so far has been shocking, electric colours. Following on from the tribal/aztec print that we've just witnessed, the print has come back in a neon, acid colour for a thorough 21st century take. Due to this trend still being current, a pair of bright coloured sunnies would match any outfit perfectly for a refreshing colour pop or clash. This is a decent alternative to the standard dark shades of sunglasses everyone wears making it more fun and playful just in time for
Summer! Check out this yellow Oakley pair, the acidic colour might normally make you wince, but they are so current this season, you will find a number of people wearing them, especially in
festival season.
