New Season Adidas Originals Are Now Online At Masdingscom
With street wear set to be huge for this Summer, there will be no better way to crack an urban street style than with a pair Adidas Original trainers.
Street wear is all about taking a heritage sporting style and making it modern; and when it comes to a rich history, Adidas is king.
A short history of Adidas...
Founded in Germany in 1949 by 'Adi' Dassler, Adidas was formed to provide athletes with specifically designed shoes to maximise performance. The first athlete to wear a pair of Adidas trainers at a major event was the great Jesse Owens.
The innovative styles developed from designs created specifically for sports soon leaked on to the high street- leading to the introduction of the Adidas Original range, and the arrival of the infamous three stripes and Trefoil on the high street.
As Adidas grew more and more successful on the pitches and fields of the sports world- it became more and more fashionable.
Perhaps best loved for it's trainers, styles such as the Gazelle and Spezial have stood the test of time, proving as popular today as they were when they were released.
Did you know…
- When Adidas was first formed, the business was run by two brothers. Adi and Rudolf; however the partnership didn't last long, and Rudolf left to form Puma.
- The famous Adidas three stripes were first used on their footwear in 1947.
- David Beckham signed one of the biggest sponsorship deals in history with Adidas in 2003, signing a lifetime contract worth over $160 million.
- In 2011, Adidas produced over 245 million pairs of trainers.
- If you strung out all the fibres used to make the 321 million pieces of clothing made by Adidas, you would have enough fabric to cover the earth.
