Not Wearing Printed Or Patterned Clothing Oh You Really Should Be

Prints and Patterns have been interwoven in fashion since day dot-but this seasons see's printed shirts and patterned clothing hit the high street harder than ever before.

With the weather (hopefully) on the climb, you can start to shed your Winter layers and start looking at the Spring/Summer basics again-shirts, t-shirts and shorts; all perfect blank canvases for adding something a bit more interesting to your new years' wardrobe.

• Printed t-shirts are a staple of your wardrobe for the coming months. Easy to wear with pretty much anything, whether it's jeans, chinos or shorts.
• Fancy being a bit more adventurous? Go for a full pattern in a camouflage or a mixed pattern. They're great if you're a bit braver, or want something eye catching to layer up with.

• Don't be afraid to give a printed or patterned polo a go either. Patterns and prints give a well deserved bit of TLC to the timeless classic and provide it with a serious style update.

• Patterned shirts can take your smart/casual look to a whole new level with some great textures and prints.

• You can go as crazy or as subtle as you like. Try a Hawaiian shirt (yes, seriously!) with shorts for high summer, and a much simpler pattern for everyday wear. You can get patterns out of the shirting material too, with flecks and diamond shapes.

• Finally, printed shorts. Shorts last year got seriously short (Cue who likes short shorts?). This year see's them being taken back down a touch-if they got any shorter, it would be verging on illegal. Now we know shorts can be boring-but never fear, we've got some great printed and patterned shorts on their way, saving your pasty Summer legs from the mundane chino scene.
