June starts the UK festival scene off with a bang with events such as Isle of Wight Festival, Download and the legendary Glastonbury. Whatever genre you're into, you can be sure there's a festival dedicated to your needs. Each year, the choice for a festival widens, yet it seems the attire for women remains the same. Fashion is a huge part of a festival with regards to what we wear, usually the outfit choice is decided wayyy ahead of schedule and alternative Parkas, Hunters and shorts are packed.
Jackets
A British festival means its more than likely going to rain at some point, despite it being summer, so though many of you may be sporting shorts, you will need a suitable jacket too! The Liam Gallagher inspired Parka jacket has been a festival favourite for many years now, more so with women these days. There are many styles and variations available on the market and the Superdry Flag Jacket is one of the coolest around, complete with multiple pockets and drawstring features for a touch of 'safari explorer'. Alternatively, the navy coloured Ted Baker Bozica Parka features a hood - handy, as you'll probably need it!
Barbour is renowned for its high quality, British heritage jackets in particular the Polarquilt or waxed designs. Investing in a waxed jacket is beneficial; the quality of the finish means the jacket will last years, providing its look after. The outer can be rewaxed when needed to keep the sustainability and weatherproof advantages and can give a great vintage look to an outfit the older it gets- result!

Outfit
There are many reasons why we, as girls, tend to avoid wearing jeans to a festival. The state of the grounds will ensure the jeans get ruined with mud and they just don't give off that festival chic appeal we aim for. That ultimate festival look is all about the shorts, the parka and the wellies - oh and lets not forget the flowers in our hair!
Though we will have prepared our attire in advance, the look should be as though items have been 'thrown on together' in an understated casual way as seen on festival goers at Coachella earlier this year. A combination of looks thrown together to create a gypsy/Indian summer/vintage/bohemian/cowgirl theme, each individual and personalised for that unusual and unique festival look. Another popular look that will be seen at festivals this year is the coordinated two piece. The Michael Kors Eyelet Structured T-Shirt (shown below) paired with the Eyelet Mini Shorts are a great combo which would look great accessorised with multiple layers of necklaces and stacks of rings. The Maison Scotch Festival Rock Tank featured below creates this look for you with the summer indian themed print.

Footwear
Most festivals are going to be muddy, lets face it, therefore the only appropriate footwear required are a pair of wellington boots. Internationally famous and a Royal preference (the brand have been awarded a Royal warrant), Hunter have established themselves as the welly of choice by both sexes at festivals worldwide. The fact that the brand have never needed to face heavy competition and the many A List celebrities seen sporting the recognisable red, white and red Hunter label are reasons why Hunter have remained as popular today as they were five years ago. Hunters now range in size, colour, finish and pattern and featured below are a pair in 'short' and gloss' and a seasonal patterned edition.
However, for a day festival such as Wireless, EDC and Lovebox which involve no camping, you may want to leave the wellies behind and opt for a casual Coachella look. Ankle boots and Converse were the most popular footwear at Coachella this year; the more worn, the better.

Accessories
The finishing touches to an outfit are almost as important as the outfit itself. A pair of designer sunglasses will give the festival look a touch of glam. From Michael Kors to Chanel, the designer glasses are recognised and made distinctive by the arm's branding. With Michael Kors the current designer of the moment, a pair of MK eyewear will give that outfit a massive trend boost. Don't forget to accessorise your Hunters with added extras: the socks and umbrella!

Essentials
Now unless you're in VIP, its unlikely you're going to be showering, so its essential to pack toiletteries. Overload yourself with sprays and creams; you may not be fresh as a daisy, but there's no reason why you can't smell like one! Take a small, handbag sized fragrance (if you're allowed to of course) to keep smelling fresh throughout the day. Pack all of these toiletteries into the Ted Baker Maisa Washbag which is conveniently waterproof and you're good to go - just don't forget the tent!
